Have you been told you may need an operation and wonder what it all means?

On the left hand side we’ve listed some of the most common procedures that we carry out.  Hopefully the questions and answers will give you the understanding to help make the best decision for you.  If you have questions at any point, please ring Jenny, on 01761 422262, who will be happy to help you.

Getting an appointment

Your GP will send a referral to the consultant that will include your medical history and current medication.  We will then contact you to offer the first available appointment.  You can self refer if you are unable to get a referral from your GP.

Hospitals in Bath

You consultation will be at the Circle Bath Hospital or the BMI Bath Clinic. We aim to offer the first available appointment. However, depending on the type of insurance you have, there may be restrictions on where you can be seen.  This could reflect on the date of the appointment you are offered.

Information required

If you are insured, please make sure you contact your insurance company before you ring for an appointment.  We will require an authorisation number.  You will need to give this to Jenny when you make the appointment along with your membership number.  If you do not get authorisation before your appointment, then your insurance company may refuse to pay.  You will then be liable for the full costs.
